Interested in running Wordpress on your fansite, but not sure how to get your posts, categories, and comments from Cutenews? The Other-Ext-WP plugins handles that for you.
About the Plugin
This useful Wordpress (v.2.3+ & PHP 4+) plugin allows Cutenews users to transfer their Cutenews installation into Wordpress, including categories, posts, and comments. It uses custom functions to read the information from Cutenews and format into Wordpress compatible data. Then, the plugin uses the Wordpress API functions to enter the data into the database. It places the posts into their correct categories and supports the transfer of comments, which will retain their proper information as well. This script is easy-to-use and is available under the GNU General Public License (like Wordpress).
Installation
Upload the plugin file (extwp.php) into your Wordpress directory under /wp-content/plugins/. Open your adminstration panel and go to Plugins and activate it by clicking Activate next to the description of Other-Ext-WP. Now you should see a link to Other-Ext-WP under your plugins sub-menu (next to Plugin-Editor for example). Go to Other-Ext-WP. Now just read the instructions. Configure the options (see README). Click transfer and the process will begin. When it is complete, delete the plugin from the server.

Hmmm I might try this!
Didn’t even know this was possible. I might try this too.
Hi, I was so happy to find that I would be able to transfer my cutenews articles to wordpress, and was glad to find this plugin. It worked well when I installed it, but I’ve noticed that it only transferred the short story part, not the full story. Did I do something wrong, or is that what it’s supposed to do? Is there a way I can get the full story instead?
